What do you make of this? 1900 Newark, NJ SANDERS, Mary 35 b 4-65 NJ NY IRE KEOUGH Grace 15 6-84 NY NJ NJ; dau[matches SS b/date] John 16 b 8-83 NJ NJ NJ; son/inlaw
Where did you find this? So if this matches it would make her maiden name Sanders?
I did find a batch of Keogh's with a Grace with them-the father was Thomas and the mother Margret 1880 1882, and 1900 census but I didn't think it fit since William was born in 1900 and that date is pretty backed up/consistent by the later census. In the 1900 census I found she was single and had no baby. But of course that was in June so technically the baby could have been born afterwards and would not be noted in the census.
I did find Hugh, Mary, Peter and Eliza in some census and Hugh and Peter's draft cards. Did you look in a city directory for what you posted above?
Since Grace died in 1973 do you think I am better off sending away for the death certificate or do you think the Family History center (email@example.com) would have it?
It's kind of a bummer that William isn't actually a Cassidy since our family is very attached to that name, but it seems like he would have been the only one left to carry on that name anyways since neither Mary or Hugh seemed to have kids.
