Dear Kaye,
I am seeking information on the brother of my gggg-grandmother. His name is FEDERIC HUDSON, he was born in Ohio, probably in either Butler or Hamilton County about 1838.I don't have a birth certificate. He was the son of JAMES HUDSON and James' first wife RACHEL VAN HOUTEN. FREDERIC is listed in the 1850 Ohio census as 12 years old living with his father and newish step-mother MARIA. In the 1860 census FREDERIC was 22 years old, a bookkeeper and living in a boarding hourse in Cinncinati. He must have gotten married shortly thereafter because by about 1863 he was married to LIDA F. and had a son, HOWARD HUDSON. (This info is from the 1880 Conneticut census). FREDERIC died in the early 1900's in CT., but LIDA had retured to Ohio and was still alive in 1930, age 88, living with a neice in Dayton (Montgomery County). I am looking for documentation on Fredric, who Lida's family was, and what happended to the son Howard, who in the 1880 census was 17 years of age and listed as born in Ohio. ANY ASSISTANCE WOULD BE GREATFULLY APPRECIATED. Thanks...Smoky Dagan
