Laura Barr Hattenbach loved horses and was an avid equestrienne.
She was a joint master and huntsman of the Gully Ridge Hunt in Waynesburg, Ohio.
She was a member and past president of the Chagrin Valley Trails and Riding Club in Moreland Hills and served as a past president of the Chagrin Valley Hunt, where she was whip.
She traveled to England and Ireland to hunt foxes while on horseback.
Mrs. Hattenbach, 55, died Friday at her home after a long battle with brain cancer.
She was born in Cleveland and graduated from Laurel School in Shaker Heights in 1960. She lived in Chagrin Falls most of her life.
She was a former member of the Country Club and Chagrin Valley Jaycee Women.
Survivors include her mother, Lillian Barr of South Russell; daughters, Cherie Hattenbach of Russell Township and Catherine Hattenbach of Rocky River; and her former husband, Harry Hattenbach.
Services will be private.
