James D. Schuster, 69, of 109th Street, also known as Don, died yesterday in his home. He had been an inspector 35 years at the City Auto Stamping Co., retiring five years ago. Mr. Schuster was recording secretary of Local 11, UAW. He was a navy veteran of World War II and the Korean War. Surviving are his wife, Dorothy; son, Donald, daughter, Mrs. Deborah Pryba and sister, Mrs. Lolita Thielman. Services will be at 11:30 a.m. Saturday in the Birkenkamp-Leonhard-Cook Mortuary, where the body will be after 7 tonight. North End Post, American Legion, will conduct services at 7 p.m. tomorrow in the mortuary. The family requests that any tributes be in the form of contributions to Point Place United Church of Christ.

Dorothy Schuster, age 86, a friend to all and known as "Mom" to many, died Monday, July 5, 2004. A life long resident of Point Place, Dorothy was born in Toledo on October 12, 1917, to Fred and Clara Kolling. She was a production worker for the Ayling and Reichert Company for 22 years. Her memberships included Point Place United Church of Christ, American Legion Ladies Auxiliary Post 576, UAW #11, City Auto Retirees, Point Place Heritage Society, Elizabethans at PPUCC, Lucas County Board of Elections and the Women's Republican Party.
Dorothy's husband of 48 years, James Donald (1985) and 8 brothers and sisters preceded her in death. Left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Deboran (Stan) Pryba; son, Donald (Minnie Warner) Schuster; grandchildren, Jason (Kelly) and Jeremy Pryba, and Donald II (Heather) and David Schuster; great-grandchildren, Garrett and Drew Pryba and Kahlan and Joselyn Schuster; sister, Virginia Martin; sister-in-law, Lolita "Lete" Thielman; many nieces and nephews and friend, Jordan.
The family will receive visitors in the David R. Jasin Funeral Home, 5300 N. Summit Street (419-726-1583), on Thursday, July 8, 2004, from 2-8 p.m., with a Ladies Auxiliary service at 7:00 p.m., or condolences may be sent to the family at www.jasinfuneralhome.com. Funeral services will be held in the funeral home on Friday, July 9, 2004 at 11:00 a.m., Rev. James Latimer officiating. Interment will follow at Toledo Memorial Park.
