I looked under Pease Twp, and found the following; James Moore, along with others was a trustee of the Methodist Episcopal Church, which held prayer meetings in log school houses and homes till 1837, when a church was erected. The history of the church proper daters from the first camp meeting, held in Walnut Grove, in 1821, at which time a woman walked to "Scott's on the St. Clairsville Rd to urge the preacher to come to her neighborhood and preach.(could this be the origin of the name Scott's Ridge?)...another place in the book identifies early congregations served by circuit riders at "Scott's (St. Clairsville.)Years later, ST Clairsville became connected with the Barnesille circuit, and in 1834 the second chhurch was built...James Moore served, along with Daniel Limerick, in the year 1826. The MEthodist Episcopal Church of Belmont Ridge, in Flushing Twp,was also served by ciricuit riders, on of whom was James Moore.
