Hello everyone, I've been on the hunt for FRANKLIN SHAW my ggg-grandfather on my mothers side for years. She has always believed (and was told) that his middle name is BROCKWAY. However all records tell me that he was born in New York in 1835. I did find a Frankin Shaw in Watertown, Jefferson Co. in 1850 age 25 working on a farm, but his birth was in Canada.
Here's some info of what I have: 1.Franklin B.(Brockway?)2 Shaw((Unknown)1) was born Abt. March 15, 1834/35 in New York(1900 census = July 1835 ,as birth), and died April 19, 1904 in Reynolds Twp., Montcalm Co., Michigan.He married (1) Ellen A.(Adaline?) Nichols October 23, 1866 in Cambria, Hillsdale County, Michigan, daughter of Henry Nichols and Adaline Bennet.She was born Abt. November 29, 1835 in New York, and died March 10, 1902 in South Arm, Charlevoix Co., MI.He married (2) Florence F. Earl December 26, 1886 in Keeler, Van Buren, Michigan, daughter of Palmer Earl and Mariah Thistle.She was born 1852 - 1853 in Keeler, Van Buren Co., Michigan, and died. (unknown date)

"Ellen left him in 1882 for a man name Kirby"SEE PENSION RECORD that was signed in Sandy, Michigan. Application for pension has him listed as a resident of White Cloud, Newaygo Co., Michigan on Jan. 10, 1895.
