I am trying to help my brother in law locate the burial place of his Father Joseph King. We know Joe was born 1914 in most likely Salyersville,Magoffin County, KY. His family later moved to Hamilton,Butler County Ohio, where he died April 09, 1947. His father was Luther King, and his mothers maiden name was Dumas. He had a sister Mildred King who married M.G. Alexander January 06, 1947 in Chattanooga Tennessee..They too moved to Hamilton where she died in 1954. Funeral services were held atat The St. Joseph Church, and burial was at Greenwood Cemetery I am assuming Joseph was buried there,as well..I cannot find burials online this cemetery.
(OBIT) Mrs. Mildred King Alexander was called by death after an illness of seven weeks Mrs. Alexander 37, of 5000 Dixie Highway was born in Lexington KY. July 10, 1917 the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Luther King. She married M.G. Alexander Jan 6, 1947 in Chattanooga TN. Mrs Alexander was a volunteer WAC entering service in Jan 1943. discharged ; Feb. 1946 and held the rank of technical sergeant and was stationed at fort Oglethorpe GA. Member of Durwin-Schantz post 138,American Legion Auxiliary,and of the Greater Cincinnati Womens Legion Post , and was an active volunteer of The Veterans Administration center ,Dayton. Mrs Alexander leaves the widow M.G.Alexander, Her parents Mr. and Mrs. Luther King,Hamilton. Her maternal Grandmother Mrs. Cora Ellen Dumas, a sister Mrs. Thelma Russo,Hamilton. She was proceeded in death by four brothers and one sister. Funeral services at The Brown-Dawson Funeral Home ,followed by requiem high mass in St. Joseph Church. Burial will be in the World War II Veterans lot,Greenwood Cemetery.
