John Moore, wife Elizabeth, and their four sons (Thomas, b 1800; John, b 1802; Allen, b 1805; and George, b 1811) emigrated from County Cavin, Ireland to the US about 1818 and settled in Carroll County, Ohio.
John Moore, was born about 1767 and died 1852 at age 85. He is buried in the Baxter Ridge Cemetery, Harrison Township, Carroll County, Ohio.
Elizabeth, maiden name unknown, was born about 1772 and died August 27, 1842, and she too is buried in Baxter Ridge Cemetery, Harrison Township, Carroll County, Ohio.
1. Thomas Moore, b March 10, 1800, m. Jane C. Scott, April 7, 1825. He died November 3, 1882 in Huntsville, Schuyler County, Illinois. Jane died October 3, 1853 in Huntsville. Thomas and Jane had eight children.
Thomas married second Nancy Sullivan (daughter of Joseph Sullivan and Martha Lutton), Oct 18, 1855.
2. John Moore, b Oct 6, 1802, m. Sarah Y Clark, about 1827. They both died in Harrison Township, Carroll County, Ohio, in 1882 and 1884 respectively. They had nine children.
3. Allen Moore, b about 1805, m. Isabel Boyle. Around 1852 they removed to Schuyler County, Illinois where Allen died April 13, 1865, Isabel, died April 6, 1875. Allen and Isabel had six children.
4. George Moore, b June 1, 1811, m. Elizabeth Clasky, b July 14, 1815, in Ohio. They are both buried in Baxter Ridge Cemetery. George, d 1880, Elizabeth, d 1898. They had four children, the first two died very young and are buried at Baxter Ridge Cemetery.
