According to a fellow researcher an Abel Davis: age 15 & uder 20 was found in the 1830 Federal Census of Champaign Co., OH. Young Abel Davis may be one of the missing sons of Abel & Mary Davis who located in Liberty Twp., Chamapign Co., OH in 1819 and was also found in the 1830 Champaign Co., OH census.Abel m. Mary Huffman probably in Monongalia Co., VA before 1790. Mary was d/o John Huffman, b. Berks Co., PA 1741 and his wife Margarett. At some point the family moved to Bedford Co., PA where John Huffman,Jr. was b. in 1776.
By 1806 their sibling Elizabeth was also in Monongalia Co with her husband William Smith. John Huffmanm, Sr. d. prior to 1806 somewhere in S.W. PA. The three Huffman siblings represented by John Huffman, Jr., attorney took action to recover funds due from their father's estate.
Mary (Huffman) Davis d. either in Monongalia Co of Champiagn Co. around 1820 and Abel in 1828 m. Catherine Kirkwood in Champaign Co. If somekind soul having access to 1830 Champaign Co., census records could look for Abel Davis, II I would be most apreciative. Thanks,
