My Maternal Great Grandfather, Daniel Jefferson Anders, was born in Clermont County on 21 January 1844.His parents were Christopher Anders and Sally Anders (Unknown Maiden name), respectively from Maryland and Pennsylvania.Based on family research (some of it done in the Clermont County library)his family had been traveling down the Ohio River. They disembarked at Clermont to Birth Daniel J.Eventually they continued their River trip, ending-up in Iowa. After they lived in Iowa for a few years they returned to Ohio and settled in Celina, Mercer County, Ohio.During the Civil War, Daniel (and his brother George) joined and served in the Ohio 71st Infantry. After the Civil War Daniel moved to Michigan to settle 80 acres of land near Pierson, Montcalm County, Michigan. He met his wife, Senith Alice Lindsley and raised a family in Michigan.I'm originally from Muskegon, Michigan.
Anyway.... my entire reason for writing this message is that I've encountered a "Brick Wall" with his Mother's Maiden name: (Sally ? Anders). I haven't been able to locate it.Census records indicate she is from Pennsylvania. However I believe she married Christopher in Maryland.
I am trying to determine if I might be able to locate some Clermont County birth records for 1844. (Hoping the data might include her maiden name.) I live in the area so I can do the research myself if the data is available.
