Searching for information about John J. Kelly, believed to have died in Cleveland, Ohio about 1914. His parents were Margaret Lavan and Patrick Kelly (born in Ireland). Margaret Lavan and Patrick Kelly were married in 1867 in Ohio. Patrick Kelly immigrated from Ireland (possibly from Ballyduff, County Kerry) around 1861/2, accompanying his sister, and enlisted in the Confederate Army by means of seeking employment. He was captured at the Battle of Shiloh, and subsequently released by the Union Army with the agreement that he would work for them. His son, John J. Kelly, was born sometime between 1867-1880 in Ohio, and died probably in Cleveland.The family lived in Crestline, in Crawford County, and John J. Kelly eventually moved to Cleveland, where he died.
