I am trying to locate some cousins that I know were in Cleveland Ohio in the late 1920's / early 30's. All I have is my great uncle's name. I have pictures of him, alone and with his family, so I know he had children. Up until 10 years ago, I never knew how he died, just that he 'died young'. It must have been "The Family Secret".I now have the original newspaper article but will not disclose how he died here in a public forum. But if family are interested I will share with you via email. After his death here in KY, this branch of the family lost contact with his family there in Ohio, a very long time before I was born. Please see message 3511 for more info. He was always called Uncle Ed by my elderly aunt. I am descended from his sister Frances Ellen , who married a Mayes. His full name was James Edward Wells born in Cleveland on April 17, 1880. He died in Bowling Green KY on July 29, 1930. (The reason he was in Ky at the time was that he was visiting his brother, Ephraim.) He is buried in Old Brush Cemetery beside his mother, in Portland TN. It is just across the KY/TN state line from where I live. Bowling Green is 20 miles north. I don't know if his widow remarried or not, or any of his children's names. His parents were Eli Trowbridge Wells b. Dec 31, 1837 & Hannah Dungey b. 1854 or 1858 in Canada. I have more information on these people and will gladly share what I have if you are descended from "Uncle ED". In one of his photos he looks like he was quiet a character! Actually , my 28 year old son favors him. I would love to 'meet' my Wells cousins, so please email me or leave a posting, I will be sure to answer.
