One thing to remember about the Cuyahoga County marriage records - not all records were properly filed.
Until (I believe) the 1940s or 1950s, the county left it up to the married couple to properly file their marriage license with the county. If they forgot to do so, the archive won't have their record.(the marriage is still valid!)
If this happened, sometimes you can locate a copy of the license at the church where the wedding was held.
(I encountered this problem with my grandparent's records.)
Another glitch in the marriage index are a few transposed records - the bride's name entered in the groom's field and visa-versa.This seems to occur more frequently when the first name was either uncommon or truncated when entered in the index.
