I am looking for info on JOSEPH ROUSH. He was born August 2, 1842 or 1844 in Clarke Co., Va. He is the son of John Roush and Margaret Jackson. His family moved to Putnam Co. Va. (then WVa. now) by the 1850 census. They then moved on to Lawrence and Gallia counties, Ohio. His father, John was in a fatal wagon accident in 1856 and the children married or moved away.
Joseph can be found in Berlin twp. in Delaware Co., Ohio from the 1870 census until his death on August 28, 1920. He would've been a ripe age for the civil war, but I do not know if he served. Since I can not locate him for the 1860 census, I have no clue as to what state he may have served from.
Joseph married a woman named Frances Love and had at least the following children (taken from the 1880 census): Arthur C. born about 1871, Flory L. born about 1874, Ernest E. born about 1877, and Bertha born about 1879. He also has a woman, listed as "mother", by the name of Susan Roush, living with him for this census. This could possibly be his step-mom and her name previously was Susan or Hannah Sawyer. Both Joseph and his wife, Frances (d. 1934?), are buried in Cheshire Cemetery in Delaware Co., Ohio.
