Hello looking to connect with any Campbell family members --The family was in Fayette Co. Oh from 1850's to ?? as some of the children died in Fayette Co. in the 1920's below is a breif summary--
My known Campbell family starts with John Campbell, who was born Sept. 1817 in PA. probably in Fayette County. John's parents are unknown at present, however on the 1850 census he listed his father as born in VA. and mother in PA. John married Miss Anna Barnett prior to 1846 and they had 2 sons James 1846/7 and William 1848/9, listed on the 1850 census. John and Anna went onto have Simon in1850, Joseph Andrew 1853 and Jane 1855 in PA. About1857 they moved to FAYETTE COUNTY, Ohio and John and Anna hadJohn F. in 1858, Calvin C. in 1860, and Henry D. in 1864. Anna died in July 1864, 7 weeks after Henry's birth.Anna is buried in the Bloomingburg Cem.
John remarried Deborah Hughes about 1865 and they had the following children-- Elmer E. 1866, Lidia 1867, Emma 1870, Carrie 1872, Harry H. 1874, Etta 1877, Cora 1879. John and Deborah moved west to Cass County, Mo. about 1882 with the young children, plus Henry D. and Joseph and his young family. Simon had moved to MO. in 1870. John's sons James, John ,and Calvin remained in FAYETTE COUNTY, Ohio until there respective deaths in the 1900's. The children William and Jane are unaccounted for ...I believe William went to Illinois in the 1870's and Jane married after 1880 probably in Ohio. I descend off of the Henry Duncan line (my great grandfather) the family has remained in the area until this day, with 2 of Henry's sons moving to Iowa in the 1930's. (to include my grandfather).
Looking to connect with any possible family members of this Campbell family and have hit a dead end in PA. looking for John Campbell's parents. Craig Campbell
