Calling anyone with a Runey, Runa etc. Campbell in there Campbell families/tress.
I have been at a dead end for sometime on my Campbell research and I have come across a new clue to the puzzle ...hopefully -- so here goes.
I have a John Campbell who was born September 17, 1817 in Fayette County PA. (according to his obit in 1899 it says he was a native of this county). John was married prior to 1846 in Faith County PA. to Ann Barnett and they lived there from 1846 to 1856, then moved to Fayette County Ohio.
John and Ann's first son was James RUNEY Campbell born in Sept. 1846. John in the 1870 and 1880 census that his father was born in VA.
I am hoping that the name RUNEY was passed down as a family name as it is not a very common name. I have found only a few RUNEY Campbell's and they have come out of Virginia lending hope that this is indeed the case. A Runey and Winnie (Grubb) Campbell lived in Fayette County Ohio from 1820 till they died and they supposedly had 16 children. I have not seen any names of there children so I don't know if they did have a John in 1817. I would appreciate anyone that can shed any light on this Runey Campbell family or any other possibilities.
