I am looking to find information BEFORE 1850 about Patrick and Margaret Hagerty who lived in Xenia, Ohio.
Patrick and Margaret Hagerty were born in Ireland (he ca 1825 & she in May 1829) and then immigrated to USA in 1844 (year of immigration according to the 1900 federal census of Greene County, Ohio).
"John" Hagerty and wife Margaret Hagerty settled in Miami Twp., Greene County, Ohio, by the time of the 1850 census. By the 1860 Census, then listed as Patrick & Margaret "Hagertery" and only one child: baby Catharine, they had moved into the City of Xenia, Ohio, in the 2nd Ward.By 1870 and from then on, they lived on Cincinnati Ave. in the 5th Ward, Xenia.
Patrick and Margaret had seven children: Maria, Catherine, John, Mary, Margaret, Patrick and Sarah Grace, but not all lived into adulthood.
Son John Hagerty worked in a twine factory at nineteen...Apparently never married.
Patrick died in 1881 in Greene County, Ohio. Patrick's wife Margaret Hagerty died in Greene County, Ohio, in 1912.They were Irish Catholic and are buried in St. Brigid's Cemetery.(Does anyone have experience with what records St. Brigid's Church may have for a couple from this time period??)
I am trying to find more details on Patrick and Margaret, especially BEFORE 1850 like more of their immigration information. I do not have the date or place of their marriage (though I think they were married in Ireland prior to immigration) or whether either ever naturalized. The census listing the immigration date has no mark in the naturalization column. There are rather numerous possibilities on the passenger lists -- except the date does not match with 1844.
Perhaps someone else out there reading this has a connection to this lineage, too.If so, I would love to hear from you.
Can anyone help me with further information?I am descended from Sarah's line.
