WILLIAM J. CASEY, KNOXVILLE. - Member of the State Printing Board, was born in Cambridge, Ohio, Aug. 28, 1861, only child of James K. and Hannah J. Casey. In 1867 the family removed to Knoxville, Iowa. Learned the printer's trade and worked at the case until in 1884, when he and the late Frank Steunenberg, afterward governor of Idaho, leased the Marion County Express, which they changed to Knoxville Express, and of which Mr. Casey has continued as editor to this time. Mr. Casey married Lena D. Parks, June 15, 1887, and they are the parents of three sons. James C. and Willliam D. are associated with their father in the publication of the Express; John H. is associate professor of journalism in the University of Oklahoma. Mr. Casey was delegate from the capital district to the democratic national convention of 1912; a delegate-at-large in 1920 and again a delegate from the district in the Madison Square Garden convention of 1924. He was postmaster of Knoxville, 1915-1923. A democrat.
