Hello,
The John Berry we're searching for, is listed as a land owner, but not a resident, on the 1825 Tax list for Guernsey Co. Ohio. In 1830 Census, listed living in Richland Twp. Guernsey Co. Ohio. The property was later sold to Thomas Vance. We searched for this property and found it on the lower end of Lore City and upper portion of Senecaville. When the railroad was put in by 1853, they built a portion of the tracks and station on this land, north east part. For the owner of this land, had to now cross over the tracks to be able to access Wills Creek for water. That rail road station was burned byMorgan's Raiders in the 1860's. But the sand stone's for this station are still in place. Would you know if John's mother name, was Deborah? Or where John died, buried? I'm curious on the deed of land, often times, it will show where they were living when they bought the land.
