Hi, I live in Hancock Co. and have been answering the questions.I check the 1880 Census for Hancock Co. and couldn't find Fredrick Horning/Hornung.I did find him in Henry Co. which is not to far from here.Fred was 48 then, wife Mary was 50, son Fred 17, Mollie 10, Camie? 5.Children were born in Ohio, parents born in ( Wittenberg? ) That's my best estimate. The writing is hard to read.Maybe it means something to you.Fred was naturalized in Hancock Co.Hancock Co. is probably where he had to come to be naturalized. The date of arrival doesn't fit with the oldest son's birthday since he was born in Oh.I find where Mary Bramer married Frederick Horning Aug 22,1862.I'm pretty sure that was Hancock Co.I'm sorry I forgot to write down were I got the information. Horning and Hornung is the same name in the records here. Fred and his family lived and died in Henry Co.I hope this information is useful. Best of luck! I've been researching my husbands name Treece. The original spelling in German is suppose to be Driesch. We have gone back as far as 1833 arriving on the Pink Mary indirectly from Germany.
