William Ewing, born about 1793, in Pennsylvania, married Christina Shoop/Schupp, born 1791, at Salem Reformed Church in Harrisburg, PA on May 1, 1817.Christina was the daughter of Christopher and Rosina (Flinspach) Shoop of Lower Paxton Township, Dauphin Co., PA.Christina's older sister, Elizabeth Shoop, 1783-1851, married John Ewing, 1788-1866.Elizabeth and John lived in Susquehanna Township, Dauphin Co., PA.Were William and John brothers?Who were their parents?
At least three of William and Christina's children were baptized at Shoop's Lutheran and Reformed Church in Lower Paxton Township, Dauphin County -- Elizabeth, born October 1, 1820; John David, born September 8, 1822; and Anna Maria Catharine, born October 4, 1824.Did they have additional children?
I understand that William and Christina moved to Pleasant Township, Hancock County, Ohio (near McComb). The 1860 Census of Hancock County lists "Wm" Ewing, age 67, apparently his daughter, Elizabeth Ewing, age 40, and another woman (perhaps a granddaughter?) Elizabeth Favorite, age 20. Who is Elizabeth Favorite? Did Christina die in Hancock County prior to 1860?Where are Christina and William buried?Did some of their children continue to live in Hancock County?
I would appreciate sharing and learning more about William and Christina's family.
