Hi Ron, I checked the History of Hocking Valley, which covers Hocking, Athens and Vinton Counties. THe 2 volume cloth bound set is $90.00, plus 5.26 tax (Ohio residents only), And $6.00 mailing costs. It contains 1392 pages, plus a 205 page name index.
In Perry Township I found mention of James Armstrong opened a general mercantile store in South Perry in 1835. Perry Twp was part of Fairfiled Co. until 1849.pg 1106 mentioned W Armstrong, 1109 mentions Milton as a trustee in 1883.under the bios: William, 1810, s/o Thomas and Margaret (they had 9 children --includes names and dates of births of William's siblings. Williams married Susannah Fetherolf, had 10 children (includes names and marriages of children) 2nd wife Ellen, and their 1 child.
Other pages where some of the children names above are names in other bios :ie. as a wife of another named bio. Since the book was printed in 1883 it stops there. I do not have the death records for after 1894 here at the house. I will try to remember to look them up the first of April when I am working at the court house records dept. I may forget by then, so don't hesitate to remind me before then. Hope this helps.Kay
