Sorry it took so long to get back to you on this, but you got my attention and decided to try to take the information you have on the possible siblings of Nathaniel Thompson and see if I could make it fit.It also just so happened that the day I read this posting from you I was going down to Athens for a family reunion on my mom's side (Dicken) and decided while I was there to stop by the Pedigo Cemetery.Took some photos of the tombstones while I was there.
I would be curious on what basis Millard Thompson was guesstimating the birthdays - just to know if his sources are better than mine.
The best answer I can come up with in so far as there being a link between our Thompsons is a definite maybe. The birthdays are way-off, but the Thompson-Ross coincidence is hard to ignore.
How about a different angle. What do you have on the Ross'?In the 1850 Census of North Brown Township, Vinton County, OH where my Nathaniel and Sarah Thompson were, they had a Calvin Ross (29) living with them and in the house next door were: William H. Ross23 Catherine(?)22 Sarah2 Rebecca1
In 1860 in Falls-Gore Township, Hocking County, OH where Nathaniel and Sarah Thompson relocated, it seems that William Ross may have relocated as well and lost his first wife between 1850-1852 and his daughter Rebecca. The Census shows: William Ross31 Samantha Ross27 Sarah12 Mary Ann8 Nancy7 Calvin5 John2
While the ages of the William Ross' are a bit off, the age of the Sarah living with them matches.Plus the fact that a William Ross was living next to Nathaniel and Sarah Thompson is hard to ignore.
