My late uncle Herman Cooley Hall never knew who his parents were.He was born in1906 and when about 2 or 3 his parents were either struck by a train or were in a train wreck. Herman was supposedly thrown into either a field or ditch and was nearly not found.A William B. Hall and his wife Mary E. of Huron Co. adopted him.( I don't know if it was a legal adoption or if they just took him in and raised him. I know that was done informally then sometimes. We had always been told he grew up in Norwalk, but in the 1910 census he is in their household in Huron, Huron Co.I haven't found them in the 1920 nor 1930 census. The census says Herman is their son and born in Va.It also stated they had 0 ch 0 living of their own. Does anyone know of a train wreck or accident in that vicinity in about 1908 or 1909? I thought possibly now with computers, this mystery might be solved. Any help is appreciated.
