I am looking for descendants of this family. Lulu was first married to Paul Hooper, the son of Fred and Lillie Cox Hooper. Lillie is kin. It has been quite challenging following this family.
I have found Paul's registration card for WW I and according to relatives he probably served. I've not tried to get those records yet. The 1930 census has yielded nothing so far. According to relatives, he just sort of disappeared. Paul and Lulu had two sons, James and Kenyon.
Lulu remarried to one Thomas Stewart who managed a department store in Steubenville, Jefferson Co OH. Since Daisie Cox Hooper had been employed at the Hub Department Store in Steubenville, this may have been Thomas's place of employment. I have yet to look for a divorce for Paul and Lulu.
I have found a Kenyon P. Stewart who served in the Air Corps via San Antonio TX. The info fits Kenyon Hooper Stewart. According to the 1930 census he and brother James were adopted sons of Thomas Stewart, the second husband of Lulu. They were living in Steubenville OH at that time.
I have yet to find James Hooper Stewart on the 1930 census.
If anyone knows of these folks, I'd appreciate hearing. I try to tie up loose ends on any of my relatives and this family is an ongoing, challenging search.
