Denise, Please read my answer to the message prior to yours on the Genforum Licking Co. page and you will understand why they could have married here then, but the records are gone.I went ahead and checked the marriage book mentioned in that message, and found no Higley's. I checked and found two Higley's buried in the Old Fredonia Cem., McKean Twp.,both are children of J. & S Higley, a Lilly, with no dates and a George, died 1848 aged 7 mos. This book was done by the Johnstown Gen. Society in the 1970's and is full of errors, so if you ever get the chance to be here, you should check out the stones yourself. I also checked the 1860 Printed Census for McKean Twp. and found a few. One looks as if she might be Edward's mother.(?) Do you have this?If not, I will send.I have no index to the rest of the county, so don't know if there are any elsewhere.Hope this helps a bit, even though it isn't what you asked for.
