An 1879 History of Lorain County, contains some information on the Moon and Sweet families, as early settlers of Avon, Ohio. It mentions that four brothers, Abraham, Oliver, Lodowick, and Amos Moon as early arrivals, but doesn't list their wives.
It also mentions a Waterman Sweet, who came from New York to Avon in 1817.With Mr. Sweet came his aged father and mother, Jesse and Huldah Sweet, A widowed sister who married Daniel Wilcox, and his own family, then a wife and three children, William, Calvin and Laura. He subsequently had four more children, Eliza, Henrietta, Cinderella, and Mary Ann. Waterman died Nov. 14, 1872, and his wife died July 23, 1843. The history then gives the names of the spouses and children of Waterman's sons and daughters. The history has no mention of an Elizabeth Sweet, who would be of the correct age to have married Lodowick Moon. Can you tie Elizabeth to Waterman in any way?
