Elyria Chronicle November 11, 1907 Rudolph Bartholme Killed By Lake Shore Electric Car After Getting Off One Car He Was Struck By Another---Leaves a Wife and Family
Rudolph Bartholme, a former resident of Amherst, was struck by a car on the Lake Shore Electric railroad near Lorain on Friday evening and was instantly killed.
Mr. Bartholme had been to Lorain on business and was returning to his home about 8:30 p.m.He got off from the car and started around the rear of it, when a west bound car came along and struck him.His body was badly mangled and was taken to the Parkside Chapel, where it was prepared for burial.Mr. Bartholme lived on a farm east of Lorain. He leaves a wife and three daughters, the eldest being 13 years of age.The remains were taken to Amherst on Sunday and the funeral was held at the German church at South Amherst.Interment was made in the cemetery there.
Does anyone know about this German church and it's cemetery? As you can see the surname is misspelled.None of his obituaries that I have found gives any information on any extended family that he may have in the area, although, there are a lot of Bartlome's in the area.
