The obit for Fredericka Radloff was published in The Lorain Journal Newspaper, on August 12, 1941, on page 9. The obit reads as follows:
Elyria Resident Stricken at 88
Mrs. Radloff Dies After Long Illness
ELYRIA - Mrs. Fredericka Radloff, 88, 434 12th St., died at Elyria Memorial Hospital yesterday at 6:45 p.m. following an illness of several months. Mrs. Radloff had lived in Elyria for the past five years. She was a former resident of Port Clinton and was a member of the Church of Peace there. Mrs. Radloff was born in Germany on May 11, 1853. Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Mary Block, Elyria, and Mrs. Eve Leon, Fremont. Funeral services will be held Thursday at 1 p.m. at the Taylor funeral home. Rev. Armin Schroeder, pastor of St. John's Lutheran Church will officiate. Burial will be made in Port Clinton.
That's the complete obit. The Taylor Funeral Home was located at 119 2nd St. Elyria, and was operated by Carl L. Taylor. The funeral home was listed in the 1949 Elyria city directory, but it was closed by 1951, when the property was listed as vacant. As far as I can tell no funeral home ever reopened at that location, so I'm not sure what happened to the records. Probably they were turned over to another funeral home in the city -- but who knows.
Just as an aside, another Fredericka Radloff died in Cleveland, Ohio about 10 years before the death of Fredericka Radloff in Elyria. There are a fairly large number of Radloff obits from Cleveland, Ohio. They can be accessed on line through the Cleveland Public Library, if you are interested.
