There were 3 notable Tiedtke brothers in Toledo; Charles and Ernest were in the grocery business and Harry was in the printing business. If Winfield was a butler for one of them, then it must have been 1901 to ca 1920. All of the Tiedtke brothers retired ca 1924. I could not find Winfield in the 1910 census but he is in the 1920 census-below.
In 1900, Winfield is the 18 year old son of Jonathan and
(H)Anna(h) and they lived in Findlay, Hancock, OH. In that census, the household consisted of:
head, Jonathan, 53, b Mar 1847, md 30 yrs, PA PA PA, shoemaker
wife, Hannah, 46, b Nov 1853, 7 chn, 7 living, OH NY NY
dau, Edith A., 21, b Nov 1878, OH, seamstress
son, Winfield S., 18, b Mar 1882, OH, day laborer
dau, Jessie G., 14, b Jun 1885, OH
In the 1910 census the family is still in Findlay, less the above 3 children, plus a daughter Hazel then 12 and Jonathan's mother-in-law, Angeline HARRIS. Angeline was 85, a widow, bp OH, both parents bp NJ.
Hazel LYDICK may have been Jonathan and Hannah's daughter but in the 1900 census she is the daughter of Charles and Sadie LYDICK, also of Findlay.
In the 1920 census, Hannah is now Anna, 67 and a widow. Jonathan died 26 Aug 1914 in Findlay as did Angeline HARRIS on 4 Jun 1914.
In the 1920 Findlay census, Winfield is now marriedThe household consisted of:
head, Winfield, 36, OH PA OH, gatherer-glass house
wife, Emma, 32, OH OH OH, worker-medicine factory
dau, Helen, 15, OH
dau, Ona, 13, OH
(Note: The glass house may have been Findlay Glass)
In the 1930 census, Winfield is now a widower and lived with his mother and a widowed sister, Ina WITTEBORT, in Findlay. Anna was 77, Ina was 59 and a seamstress and Winfield was 57 and a laborer in a ditcher plant.
(Note: The ditcher plant may have been Buckeye which later became Gar-Wood)
Anna Marie Harris LYDICK died 20 Apr 1944 and Winfield Scott LYDICK died 13 Nov 1945. Jonathan, Anna, Angeline and Winfield (but not Emma) are all buried in Maple Grove Cemetery in Findlay.
