Grocer 40 Years In Point Place
Edward G. Ellis, 92, for many years a Point Place grocer died of a stroke yesterday in Riverside Hospital. He lived at 4801 - 295th.
Born in Fremont, Mr. Ellis lived at Point Place 49 years. He operated Ellis Grocery, 6224 Edgewater Dr., 40 years, retiring nine years ago.
Surviving are his wife, Clara Jane, son, Cecil, Sr. and daughter Mrs. Betty Elzena Sanislo, both or Toledo; a grandson and two great-granddaughters.

Barber; Volunteer Fireman at Point Place 40 Years
Cecil William Ellis, 63, of 2447 Shoreland Ave., a volunteer fireman 40 years, died yesterday in St. Charles Hospital.
Born in Muncie, Ind., Mr. Ellis lived in Toledo 50 years. He was a self-employed barber 40 years and a member of the Barber's Union, Local 5. He was also a musician with several local bands.
Mr. Ellis was a chrter member of the original Point Place-Shoreland Fire Department and a former assistant chief of the Shoreland station. He was a member of the Coast Guard Auxiliary during World War II; the Harbor Light Lodge, F&AM; the Point Place Businessmen's Association and its bowling league.
Surviving are his wife, Mildred; son, William; mother, Mrs. Clara Ellis, and sister, Mrs. Betty E. Sanislo, all of Toledo, and two grandchildren.
Services will be Wednesday at 1 p.m in the Jasin Mortuary with burial in Toledo Memorial Park. Firemen's services will be tomorrow at 7 p.m. and Masonic services at 8 p.m., in the mortuary.

Mrs. Clara Jane Ellis, 87,who with her husband, Edward, operated Ellis Grocery Store, 6224 Edgewater Dr., for 40 years, died yesterday in the Golden Haven Nursing Home, where she lived a year and a half.
Born in Curtice, O., Mrs. Ellis lived 52 years in Point Place. Mr. Ellis died three years ago.
Surviving are her daughter, Mrs. Betty Elzena Sanislo, of Toledo; a grandson and two great-granddaughters.
The body will be in the Jasin Mortuary after 3 p.m. tomorrow.

Mildred E. Ellis, of Shoreland Ave., passed away April 10 at age 86.
Mrs. Ellis was a member of Stella Chapter #50 Order of eastern Star.
The widow of Cecil W. Ellis, she is survivied by son, William Ellis; sisters, Mrs. Louise Chown and Mrs. Marie Ripke; also grand-daughters, Vicki Ellis and Mrs. Linda Black; great grandsons, Steven and Mark Black.
Friends may call at the Boyer-Van Wormer-Scott Funeral Home, 5055 Secor Rd., north of Laskey Rd. after 2 PM Thursday, where services will be held Friday at 10:30 AM. Eastern Star services Thursday at 7:30 PM. Interment Toledo Memorial Park. Family suggests contributions to Stella Chapter Order of Eastern Star.
After all that, your only direct descendants would be William and Vicki Ellis, Mrs. Linda Black and Steven and Mark Black. There are duplicate names for the first 3 and nothing on Steven and Mark. Your best bet would be to contact Boyer-Van Wormer-Scott. Their zip code is 43623.
