I need a look-up from anyone who has access to the "Lucas County, Ohio Marriage Records 1835-1858, Volume 1", book by the Northwestern Ohio Genealogical Society (name changed to the Toledo Area Genealogical Society), or access to the actual county record.
I'm trying to determine if my great grandfather, Sanford L. BAILEY (born in New York abt. 22 Feb. 1829/1830), was married prior to his marriage of 12 April 1857 (in Lucas Co., Ohio) to Caroline WILLIAMS (born abt. 8 Jul. 1837 in Wooster, Ohio, daughter of Stephen & Hannah WILLIAMS). All children of Sanford and Caroline are believed to have been born in Toledo, Lucas Co., OH. Sanford's Civil War Pension file said he was a sailor prior to enlistment in 1864.
I believe Sanford BAILEY may have been married prior to 1857 and possibly had children. Two of these children possibly being George BAILEY and Stephen BAILEY. I found a George BAILEY (born about 1853-1854 in Ohio), age 6, on the 1860, Richfield Township, Lucas Co., OH census, living with the Nathan and Angeline VICHERY family. There was a 22 year old daughter, Angeline, living with this family. In 1870, Washington Township, Lucas Co., OH census, I found a Geo BAILEY, age 16 (born about 1853-1854 in Ohio), living with my great grandparents, Sanford and Caroline (WILLIAMS) BAILEY. The date and place of George's and Stephen's birth unknown at this time, but possibly in Toledo, Lucas Co., or Wooster, Wayne County.
