Seeking information on Willfred (Wilfred) D. Holtzman born 16 Sep 1889 Little Rock, Arkansas. He married Ina Lou Straight 28 Mar 1911 in Illinois. They appear on the 1925 Iowa state census, Dallas county with 2 children, Barbara and Wilfred. Ina and Willfred were divorced sometime between 1925 and 1930. I am interested in what happened to Willfred after this divorce.
The “story” goes that he remarried but the 2nd wife did not know that he had been married before. The 2nd wife’s name “may” have been Rose (maiden name unknown). The “story” also indicates that there were between 2-4 children from this 2nd union. I did find Willfred D. Holtzman on the 1930 federal census in Toledo, Lucas county, Ohio.Unfortunately, his name and partial information has been crossed out and I am unable to make out the notation made by the census taker. Why was his name crossed out?Where can he be found?
On the WWII draft registration, Willfred gives his residence as 2417 Hampstead Rd. Toledo, Lucas county, Ohio. He is self-employed (architect we believe) at address 1721 Nichol?? Bldg in Toledo. Persons that will always know his current address are listed as Waldo Bowman and Ruppert(?) Bowman of Toledo. If he was married, why not list his wife? Are there city directories available that could shed some light on this?
Finally we know that he was the architect for the building of the Duns Scotus Library in Sylvania, Ohio in 1949-1950. This project was for the Sisters of St. Francis.
Did Willfred actually marry a 2nd time to a Rose ____??Did they have children? If so how many etc. When did Willfred die and where is he buried?Any information that can be provided will be greatly appreciated!
