When Robert married Nellie he may told her he was a widower but possibly divorced. If they married in 1891, Nellie was only 17-18 years old and her parents may not have agreed to the marrige had they known he was divorced and had children from the first marriage.
There is a Maggie Dickson in the 1897 and 1898 Toledo city directories: 1897, Maggie, waiter, Dairy Lunch, bds 620 Madison 1898, Maggie, waitress, Merchants Hotel 1898, Jennie listed as Genevieve
I can't find any reference to Dairy Lunch and 620 Madison appears to be a residence on an 1895 Toledo map. Merchants Hotel was at 25-29 N. St. Clair a long way from Western avenue.
Robert Dickson died 12 Nov 1935 in the Lucas County Home of heart disease and senility. He was born 14 Feb 1850 in Scotland, his usual residence was 32-12th St., Toledo and was divorced. The informant was Florence ?SCOTT, RFD 8, Box 6115, Toledo, probably Robert's daughter. Robert was buried 14 Nov 1935 in Memorial Park Cemetery.
