George "Sonny" A. Estep, Sr., age 60 of Monclova Rd., Monclova, OH, passed away Monday, February 7, in St. Charles Hospital. He was born October 4, 1933 at Colcord, WV and moved to Toledo in 1952. He married Nancy Harger November 21, 1953. They shared 40 years together and she survives. Mr. Estep retired from City Auto Stamping in 1991, after 39 years of service. He was a member of UAW Local #11 Toledo, the Cousino Club and the Grand Rapids Sportsmans Club.
He is survived by his wife, sons, George (Kathy) Jr., Harold (Sue) and William (Janet); daughters, Deborah (Dan) Gingrich, Elnora (Richard) Koos, Georgia (Jay) Nicholson, Jacqueline (Jerry) Stephens, Carol (Tim) Polker; grandchildren, Theresa (Tim) Hamlet, Tracy Berryhill, Robert Smith, Debbie and Dawn Koos, Becky and Bud Ritson, George III and Joshua Estep, Ashley and Brandon Estep, Eric and Nancy Stephens, Tabbitha and William Estep, Jr., Amanda and Timothy Polker; great-grandchildren, Jacob and Samantha Berryhill; 6 step-grandchildren, 2 step-great-grandchildren; brothers, Roger (Marilyn) of Sylvania, Bob (Betty) Burlington, Iowa, Paul (Sharon) of Sylvania; sisters, Mildred Richmond of N. Garden, VA, Muriel Spencer of Ashland, KY, Melba Meadows of Naoma, WV, Judy Puckett of Alliance, OH, Julie (Bob) Keeler, of Temperance, MI, Linda (Tony) Zappone of Holland, OH, Peggy Butler of Toledo, OH.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Gilford and Zelpha Estep and brothers, Harold and Donald. George will be missed by family and all who loved him.
Services will be Thursday at 11 a.m. in the Roberts Chapel Free Methodist Church with Rev. Don Dayton officiating. Visitation will be Tuesday evening from 7-9 p.m. and Wednesday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the Peinert Funeral Home, Whitehouse, OH. Burial will be in Roth Cemetery, Monclova, OH. Memorial donations may be made to the donor's choice.
