"Toledo Blade", Monday, Nov. 28, 1938, S1,P4, C4: CORONER SEEKS CAUSE OF DEATH Interlake Foreman Dies While at Work; Gas Poisoning Feared
Coroner William M. Shapiro today is investigating the death of George Bearley, 57, of 1708 Cutter Street, a foreman at the Interlake Iron Corp., who collapsed and died while working there early yesterday. After an autopsy performed last night, the coroner said that an analysis of blood will be made today to determine whether the man died of carbon monoxide poisoning. Mr. Bearley had lived in Toledo more than 40 years. He came here with his parents from Texas when he was a boy. Mr. Bearley was a member of the Foreman's Club. He is survived by his wife, Zella; a son, Chester and daughters, Gladys and Norma Bearley, all of Toledo, and Mrs. Margaret Stacey, Norwalk, O. Funeral services will be held tomorrow at 1:30 p.m. in the Parks Funeral Home. Burial will be in Willow Cemetery.
