Not quite a million! Initial reports set the loss at $300,000 to $400,000.
The robbery made the front page of the Feb. 17th and 18th newspaper. The three men, that were actually held up after transporting the mail to the post office, were Joseph HUGHES, Paul WEINRICH and W. H. MILROY.
