Mike; I didn't do a complete search yet, Rachel was the first one buried in the Lafayette cem, but it says she is the wife of Jacob Shryack.I. J. (Isaiah J) is buried next to her.I haven't checked every cem. in the county yet. I did find in Lafayette 1850 census John Shryack age 71 Hester A age 30 Isah J age 29 Mariah Nichelson age 27 Eliza Shryackage 23 Mary A Nichelson age 5/12 Couldn't locate them in Mad co in the 1860 census 1870 census, they are all still together except for John, they are all listed as tailors. I found the obit for Isaiah - Shryack, at his residence in London, on Friday morning last, Jan 2nd 1874 of erysipelas, after a short illness,, Isaiah J. Shryack, aged about 53 years."Ike" as he was familiarly called was universally esteemed for his many good qualities as a citizen. His unconquerable appetite for intoxicating drink was the only enemy he had occasion to dread. And against this insidious foe he fought bravely, and for several years was happily the victor. His sanguine temperament, ready sympathies, and warm heart inspired the affection of all. Those who enjoyed his intimate acquaintance esteemed him most highly for his many virtues.Peace to thy ashes, old friend! Found another obit for a George Shyrack in the paper on Thursday, Feb 15, 1900.Relatives of George Shyack, who formerly lived near Plattsburg, are trying to secure information regarding the man's death recently at Cape Colony through the state department.Shyrack went to South Africa about 10 years ago and is supposed to have lived near Kimberley. It is though also that he obtained considerable wealth, and his relatives are attempting to recover whatever fortune he may have left.So far no very definite information has been obtained regarding the man. Don't know if this will help you much.Let me know if you want me to look further.
