John M. Campsey, age 74, well known retired grocer from Range, died at his home on Elm Street, early Monday morning, of complications from an illness and injuries received in a fall down stairs at his home some time ago. Although born in Morgan county, he had been a resident of Madison county for the past 50 or more years, having owned and operated the general store at Range for 50 years prior to moving to London, a year ago.
Besides his wife Josephine, he is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Ruth A. Timmons, Columbus, two granddaughters Mrs. Joanna Mider and Jane Timmons, both of Columbus, and a great granddaughter.
A short funeral service is to be held at the residence Wednesday afternoon at 1:30 o'clock, with a second service to be held at the Bethel Church at 2:30 p.m. with Rev. W.C. Hickey officiating. Interment is to be made in the Bethel cemetery by W.E. Lukens.
I have pictures of his tombstone and wife Josephine. Also daughter, Ruth A. Timmons and husband, Lyle's tombstone. If anyone is interested.
