This is an update as I found out some information from my biological father (I hear from him about once every 5 years).
My grandfather was adopted. His birth name was Robert Joseph Curren His mother's name was Mary Curren (married name)
He was born on Jan. 13, 1919 in Youngstown, OH.He was adopted by Arthur W. and Mary Elizabeth Hubauer. His adoptive name was Joseph George Irwin. He married June E. Kellogg, the daughter of Truman John and Jesse Ruth Holder Kellogg, on 2 Feb 1942. Joseph died Fri. 17 Dec 1982.
My father can remember visiting her once when he was little in the Youngstown area.He said the origional birth certifiate (that was lost somewhere) definitly placed his birth in Youngstown.
The 1920 census shows that there was not child living with Arthur and Mary Irwin but he is listed with them in the 1930 census as their adopted son.The would support what my father said, that my grandfather was adopted shortly after he turned one.
Please email me with any info you maybe have.I would really like to know where I come from.
