In the 1850 census for Trumbull County Dabney families found living in the area are: In Weathersfield Township Freeman Dabney age 23 [b. 1926] with wife Mary age 21 and child Minerva age 2 and in Bristol Township Ebanezer Dabney age 40 [b 1810 so perhaps a brother to Gardner and another son of Nathaniel and Mary] his wife Martha age 37 abd 8 children Mary-14, John-13, William-11, Gardner-9, Chauncey-7, Robert-5, Eliza June-3 and Evaline-1. But have not located Catherine VanWye Dabney or her children.
Does anyone have a complete list of the children of Nathan and Mary Dabney? In the 1820 census in Youngstown Township I did find Mary Dabney, apparently a widow with 3 males ages 10-16 and one female over age 45 with 3 employed in agriculture. In 1830 I found Gardner Dabner in Austintown Township, Trumbull County as head of a household with 2 males 20-30 [self and a brother perhaps], 2 males 15-20, [perhaps his brothers or hired help] and 2 males under 5 [sons, perhaps Freeman noted above is one of them] plus a female under 5 [daughter]and one 20-30 [wife Catherine]. There was not a seperate listing for a Mary Dabney, so she may have died or she might be residing with another child; if so whom and where? Thanks for any clarification and information to fill in the people for this extended family.
