I am researching the Joshua G. and Sarah J. Foreman line, also their son, Jay M. Foreman. Joshua and Sarah were born around 1852 and Jay was born 6/30/1890 in Ionia County, Michigan. I found a World War I Draft registration card on Jay M. Foreman earlier today and it was in Dayton, Montgomery County, Ohio records.I had no clue they had ever lived there.Until today, the last actual record I'd been able to find was where they were in the 1901 Algoma, Ontario, Canada census. Then they seemed to disappear until Jay M. Foreman shows up in Los Angeles County, California census records in 1920. On the draft registration record, I couldn't read all the small print online about him, but it listed him as a watchmaker and working for a jewelry store(the name of the jewelry store, I simply couldn't make out).I could see that he listed his nearest relatives as his wife and father.
My question is this.Could someone possibly look in old city directories for either a Joshua G. Foreman or a Jay M. Foreman for any years between 1910 and 1918?I believe that Jay arrived in Los Angeles in late 1918 or 1919.Could someone also see what jewelry stores might have been around in 1917 and 1918 in Dayton, Montgomery County, Ohio?I think that maybe the name of the jewelry store began with the first initial of "E".I couldn't quite tell by the image of the World War I Draft Registration on the web.
Thanks so much in advance for any help or lookups for me!!!
