If you are working on the families who moved to Vernon County, Wisconsin, here's some info on the Adams, Ball, Byram, Christman, and Riley families:
Margaret Jane Adams was the daughter of Robert Adams and Annis/Annice Ball. (Both Robert and Annis are on findagrave for Vernon County, Wisconsin.)
The mother of Margaret Jane Adams Christman, Annis Ball, was born born Oct. 22 1802 in Virginia, according to our family journal, the eldest of four children to Elijah Ball and Elizabeth Byram.
Annis Ball was the only daughter of "Elijah Ball, born April 13, 1777 somewhere in the eastern part of Va" and "Elizabeth Byram, born Nov. 28, 1767" (Where?) "She died in 1818, aged 51 years" I believe she is the Elizabeth Ball buried in Locust Grave Cemetery, Deerfield, Morgan County, Ohio, in 1818. Elijah shows up in Deerfield, Morgan, Ohio from 1820-1850 with his children from first and second marriages.
Prior to their lives in Bad Ax/Viroqua, Vernon County, Wisconsin, Annis Ball and Robert Adams married in Morgan County, Ohio on 08 JAN 1829. They moved to Bad Ax, Viroqua, Wisconsin by 1855.
Robert Adams and Annis Ball Adams had five children:
Elizabeth Byram Adams, who married Aaron Riley in Morgan County before the Rileys moved with her parents to Wisconsin;
Frank Adams, whom I have not been able to trace;
Margaret Jane Adams who married Mr. Christman(see more below)
John Wesley Adams whom I have not been able to trace;
and William FLETCHER Adams, who married Orilla Mains (sp) and Sarah J. Wilson, both in Vernon County, Wisconsin.
Robert Adams and Annis Ball's daughter, Margaret Jane Adams married a "Francis D. Cristman" on 03 DEC 1853 in Morgan County, Ohio.
Margaret and Frank are on the 1860 census in FALLS, MUSKINGUM, OHIO under "Francis Cristman" with their children Jacob, Lewis, William, and Elizabeth Annie."
By 1870, the family is in Vernon County, Wisconsin, with an additional child, Charles H. Christman, born Dec 1862 according to the 1900 census.
If anyone has further information about Margaret and Frank's children, or about the gravesite for Margaret, or about the other children of Annis Ball and Robert Adams, please advise. Thank you kindly.
