Noble County had many places with Olive in their name. Olive Green was west of Caldwell beyond Sharon, South Olive near Dexter City, Mt. Olive is the cementary at Caldwell. Olive was a town on the east side of Caldwell which is now part of the village of Caldwell. The township which emcompasses Caldwell is called Olive. The Olive referred to in Watkins's history is the small town that is now part of Caldwell, Ohio. Olive existed before the town of Caldwell. It is no longer on current maps. Some of the building still exist on Olive street and SR 78 east of Caldwell. The new Noble County Jail is located on one end of Olive Street.
