Wow.That message was two years old that you replied to.Glad I keep the same IDs! :)
The KOHN's I have existed around the same location as years, so I'm sure there's some kind of connection.I haven't really done much research on thembecause they aren't directly related to me.I have some NOFFSINGERs that married KOHNs and was trying to find some more pertinent dates and documentation on the family, so I started via the KOHNs.
"David Pierce Kohn - is a son of Elihu L. and Elizabeth Kohn, residents of Paulding county, where they settled in 1853. David was born in Franklin county, Ohio, December 10, 1852; was eighteen months old when his parents located here. He was married in this county, January 21, 1874, to Lydia Ann, born in Randolph county, Indiana, April 3 1854, and daughter of James and Mary J. (Johnson) Noffsinger, settlers in this county in 1870; are now residents of this county. The family consists of Bertha j., born January 23, 1875; Mahlon W., April 13, 1870; Clyde E., August 7, 1880. Mr. Kohn's father was in the war; was discharged for disability and afterwards drafted and served one year. He has a farm of forty acres, twenty of it cleared. He and his family are all members of the Christian Church. Address, Gilbert's Mills, Paulding county, Ohio." [The History of Northwestern Ohio & History of Paulding County (H H Hardesty & Company Chicago IL/Toledo OH 1882) pg 230]
I now have two Elihu Kohn's -- one born 1829, the other 1854.They may be father and son -- I haven't gotten into that aspect yet.
You can see what I have at www.foorgenealogy.com/hallard/ , though I rarely update that site as much as some others. But there IS info there on KOHN's.
