Sheila, My Dad Herbert Victor Sinift was born in Perry Co., Ohio in 1918., he was the son of James Sinift and Mary Catharine Musser. James was the son of Jacob and ElizabethSanderson Sinift. One of James older half sisters or a cousin Elizabeth Sinift married a ? Sanderson and they moved from Perry County to Pauling Co., Ohio. I will look for the year of their marriage,, I think it was during the 1830s. I do not know when they moved to Paulding Dounty??? My GGrandmother Elizabeth has been hard to trace, she married my GGrandfather when she was around 40 and he was a widower around 61 years old. They had two sons, only one survived infancy my,Grandfather James B about 1863. I do not know if Elizabeth was born a Sanderson or had been married and widowed when she married Jacob Sinift. Many members of the (Senft) Sinift family, moved to Paulding County, Ohio. I do not know the time of the move, but recently I have found out many family members from connected lines also made the move. Some being, Sinift, Sanderson, Swartz, Elder and I am finding other familiar names. I'm pretty sure my Father Herbert Sinift can be found there on the 1930 census, after his parents both died. He lived with relatives there breifly before moving with a brother to Michigan. I feel its very possible your Sandersons may be connected to those in Perry Co., Ohio and like the rest of the Perry County Sandersons are related to General George Sanderson. While scrolling through the posts I noticed the Lehman family name, the Lehmans were also related to the Senft/Sinift/Siniff family and you had a post from a Householder who also were intermarried with the Sinifts.. Could you look at the 1900 census for the Sinift name?? Original spelling was Senft which means mustart in German. So many spellings came from the original including Sinift, Siniff, Seniff, etc..
