I am very excited to see the names of Flowers, McGonagle, and Metzger. My grandfather, Lawrence L. Wynn, lived near Junction City, Ohio for 16 years, drilling for oil (1916-1932).
I am trying to find out where he lived while he was there. He is listed in the 1920 and 1930 Censuses. In the 1920 Census, he is listed as living on Flowers Road; no one seems to know where that was located. Then in the 1930 Census, he is simply listed as living in Jackson Township. In both censuses, he lived near Hugh A. Metzger and George McGonagle. There was a John M. Flowers also living there in the 1920 Census.
I checked the 1940 Census, and even though my grandfather was no longer there, I found a John A. McGonagle and a Francis A. Metzger. They were said to be living on State Route 37. Were they living on the East side of Junction City?
Other families living nearby were Bringardners, Wyricks, John J. Clark, and Charles E. Johnson.
My grandfather rented his home in Junction City, because his main residence was back in Marietta, Ohio, where he had a farm, a wife and 6 children. The three youngest children (including my mother) graduated from Junction City High School.
