Marriage: William Worth and Nancy A Williams Book 1-2-3 pg 372 #2975, Tuscarawas Co., OH. 19 April 1840.
My gr-grandmother, Martha Ann (Johnson) Watson, was the daughter of Nancy's sister, Catherine Williams, who married David Johnson. Martha Ann was born in Newcomerstown, Tuscarawas Co., OH 26 Feb 1849.
The Johnson family moved from OH to IA in 1855. The Worths moved from OH to IA between 1845/1855. It would make sense that the two families traveled together... but I have no proof that they did.
Martha Ann had an older brother, "Jimmie," James A. Williams, who was illegitimate. It turns out that Martha Ann probably was illegitimate too. She was born in 1849, and Catherine didn't marry David Johnson until 1851 or 1852. However it happened, Martha had the Johnson name and her brother didn't.
Notes that my aunt made show that Nancy and Catherine's parents are Susan Carr and David Williams --which is substantiated by Martha Ann having named a son James Williams Carr Watson. But "Marthy" seems equally possible...
Names that crop up are: William Williams, Mildred Carleton Rowe (Martha Ann had a nephew named "Carlt," so this is possibly a family name), A. Williams, Aquilla Carr. Problem is, I can't connect anyone to Catherine and Nancy. I would love to work with you on this line. Janet
