Grace: Are you aware of the connection of the Harrisons to the DAvis family of White Co., IN? I suspect the connection goes back to Fayette Co., PA where Isaac Mason / Meason,m. Cahterine Harrison, d/o Lawrence and Catherine (Marmaduke) Harrison. Both Catherine and Isaac were b. in Frederick Co., VA and moved to Fayette Co., PA c.1770 where Isaac set up an iron rolling mill follow Lawrence's experience in that business. John DAvis [1800-1882] m. Mary Newland c 1818 and she named sons Isaac Mason DAvis & Joseph Ware DAvis.Joseph Ware's daughters m. Newlands and his g. dau m. Rezin Mason in Frederick Co. I suspect that Rezin Mason was a cousin of Isaac Mason.In 1850 James Davis Harrison, b 1841 was living with Philip H. Davis, son of John Davis and that James DAvis Harrison is s/o Elizabeth (Mathis) Harrison, widow of Banjamin DAvis [1810-1847]. Philip H. DAvis, bro. of Peter B. who m. Mary E. Cantwell. James Davis Harrison, m. Rachel Isabel Cantwell a relative of Mary (Cantwell) DAvis.
Benjamin Harrison [1810-1847] said to be buried in Evergreen-Union Cem. in Waverly, OH. Wherher he is related to Lawrence Harrison, jr. who d. in Urbana in 1833. But it does appear a relationship does exist. Can you add to or correct this information?
