I am seeking the death date (and, if possible, the burial site and/or obit) for Daniel Slane, who lived in Pike County during the 1800s. I found him, with wife Sarah, in the 1860 census - living in Sharonville, Omega P.O., age 68 with occupation listed as postmaster. In 1870 they were found in Jackson twp, Waverly P.O., his occupation listed as retired farmer. By 1880 I found his widow Sarah living in Ross county with her daughter, Lydia and son-in-law Joseph Taylor, so I am assuming (always a dangerous action in genealogy!) that Daniel died sometime in the 1870s. I would be MOST grateful for any information that can be sent to me. I am descended from their son, John Royce Slane, who married Hester Ann Langdale in Waverly in 1850, then moved on to Illinois and then to Kansas. Many thanks for any help that you can offer.
